New district judge takes oath

William Herringer, a longtime defense lawyer in Durango, was appointed by Gov. John Hickenlooper in March to serve as a district court judge for the 6th Judicial District, which includes Archuleta, San Juan and La Plata counties. Herringer, front left, was sworn in Wednesday by 6th Judicial District Chief Judge Gregory Lyman at the La Plata County Courthouse.
