‘Writing The Woods’ rescheduled

The Journal

Lorena Williams, a local writer and wildland firefighter, will lead several workshops in February at Willowtail Springs Nature Preserve and Education Center in Mancos.

The first class, “Writing The Woods,” will hone in on techniques for writing about landscapes and the environment in an original and lyrical manner. It was originally scheduled for December, but that session was canceled because of a snowstorm.

It has been rescheduled from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 1 at Willowtail Springs, 10451 Montezuma County Road 39.

Williams’ second class, “Writing The Winter,” will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 29 at Willowtail.

Each workshop costs $40. Those who want to attend both classes can receive a discount – with prepayment, the second class will be $30.

For more information, visit the Willowtail Springs website.
