The Durango Police Department is looking for a man who attempted to rob three women at gunpoint in downtown Durango on Wednesday.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the east alley of the 900 block of Main Avenue.
Durango Police posted on its Facebook page the video surveillance of the incident, which shows a man approaching the victims who were standing by a red SUV and parked motorcycles.
The man points a gun at the women, who hold their hands up and appear to have some words with the armed gunman.
After a verbal exchange, the man puts the gun in his pocket and walks off. It appears the man was unsuccessful in robbing the victims.
“Fortunately, no one was injured during this horrific incident,” Durango Police wrote in the Facebook post.
Police say the car in the middle of the photo is owned by the gunman.
They are asking for the public’s help to identify the man. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Josh Newman at 375-4733 or nonemergency dispatch at 385-2900.
Calls to the Durango Police Department for additional details were not immediately returned Thursday afternoon.
