In the final Junior National Qualifier Nordic races of the year, Ethan Craig and the Durango Nordic Club hosted teams from around the region. Saturday was the first of two days of racing, and the Junior National team will be selected following the two days of competition. Athletes competing range in age from 10-and-under to 20-and-under.
Racers in the 12-and-under race showed the pain that comes at the finish line of races. After 2 inches of snow at the Durango Nordic Center overnight and rapidly changing temperatures, racers had to be on point with proper wax. They also had to work extra hard before the recent snow melted off the track.
