Letters: Why people celebrate President Trump

We were sitting outside at Nature’s Oasis the other day enjoying a sandwich when a young chap circled the parking lot in his car waving a large Trump flag outside the driver’s window.

But it was unclear why Trump was being celebrated.

Was it for his bold stance against climate change, one of the greatest threats to our well-being? Or was it for his calming appeal for civility and respect for different opinions in these chaotic times?

Perhaps I overlooked the obvious: The flag-waver wants to remind us of Trump’s modesty, a humble, faith-inspired man whose sacrifices are an inspiration to people everywhere.
