AstroFriday at San Juan College to feature Navajo constellations

San Juan College Planetarium will present AstroFriday, featuring Navajo Skies, at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. Friday on Zoom.

This virtual, 35-minute live full-dome presentation created by Nancy Maryboy and David Begay reveals eight major Navajo constellations as well as several others.

After the presentation, there will be a live, guided sky tour showing the night sky of mid-June.

To join the presentation, visit zoom.us/j/97976529608 with meeting ID 979 7652 9608.

Any participants who are disruptive or vulgar will be permanently removed from the presentation. Once the presentation begins, a lock will be placed on the meeting.

A live stargaze will take place at 9:30 p.m. in the Little Theatre Plaza if weather permits. Participants will view the “double-double” stars Alcor and Mizar and the binary North Star, Polaris.
