The article on Page 1 of The Durango Herald and online in The Journal on Friday is great, but something is missing in the photo. The image accompanying “Program aims to provide eco-friendly, reliable transportation,” shows a young, smiling person on his new e-bike.

If you look closely, you’ll see his right pant leg is torn, from which I surmise he is not accident-free. Unfortunately, his most susceptible part, the bike rider’s head, is unprotected. I wish that the picture had shown him wearing a bike helmet while enjoying his new bike!

Does the new e-bike rebate program help pay for a bike helmet, too?
