Durango Independent Film Festival announces awards

The 19th Annual Durango Independent Film Festival has announced its winners of its festival, which took place Feb. 28 to March 3.

Winners of the Juried Awards
  • Best Narrative Feature: “For When You Get Lost,” directed by Michelle Steffes.
  • Honorable Mention Narrative Feature: “End of the Rope,” directed by Charlie Griak.
  • Best Performance Narrative Feature: Brian Silverman, “Two Lives in Pittsburgh.”
  • Best Documentary Feature: “LOVELY JACKSON,” directed by Matt Waldeck.
  • Best Documentary Short: “Earthbound: Nzambi Matee,” directed by Farhoud Meybodi.
  • Best Adventure Film: “Still Alive,” directed by Santino Martirano.
  • Best Native Cinema Film: “Keepers of the Land” (Cxlax kinua qnts waxvwisiqv / Balbaalm áa laxyuup), directed by Deirdre Leowinata and Douglas Neasloss.
  • Best Live Action Narrative Short: “Blue Hour,” directed by J.D. Shields.
  • Best Animated Short: “Aikane,” directed by Daniel Sousa, Dean Hamer and Joe Wilson.
Audience Award Winners
  • Best Narrative Feature: “For When You Get Lost,” directed by Michelle Steffes.
  • Best Documentary: “LOVELY JACKSON,” directed by Matt Waldeck.
