A wish for a young boy with cancer to see Christmas lights, fireworks and fire trucks should be answered on Saturday.

A fundraising event to help third-grade student Jaden Page fight cancer will be held Jan. 14 at Riverside RV Park, 41743 U.S. Highway 160.

The event will feature a chili supper from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. and a fireworks show at 7 p.m., with s'mores around the fire afterwards.

The event is sponsored by Riverside RV Park, Atmos Energy and Momo's Pies. LPEA, Amerigas and Durango Party Rental also are donating services. Chili will be provided by members of First United Methodist Church in Durango.

Donations from participants will be collected upon arrival. Page and his family live in Durango. He has been treated for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma at Children's Hospital in Denver, but the family recently came back home, and he will be able to receive maintenance treatments here.
