Wednesday, the highway will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to noon. At noon, the highway will open for the remainder of the day.
Drivers traveling from Durango to Ouray should consider an alternate westerly route via Colorado Highway 145 through Telluride on Thursday. Northbound travelers from Durango will be able reach Silverton, and southbound travelers from Ridgway will be able to reach Ouray during the closure.
