Bo Coleman (12) and the Fort Lewis College football team will look for their first home win of the season on homecoming day against a very talented Western State team at noon Saturday at Ray Dennison Memorial Field in Durango. FLC (1-4) has dropped two in a row to Colorado Mesa and Colorado Mines and is 0-3 this season despite holding leads in the fourth quarter of all three games. This week, FLC will face the best running back in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in Austin Ekeler of the Mountaineers, who average 31.8 points per game and an RMAC-leading 277.2 rushing yards per game. But FLC has the second-ranked run defense in the RMAC, allowing only 111.6 rushing yards per game. Western State (3-2) is right behind FLC in run defense and also ranks fourth against the pass. In what could be a defensive showdown, the Skyhawks hope to send the homecoming crowd home happy with a win.
