The Durango Adult Education Center announces that Stephanie Moran, coordinator of the High School Equivalency Program, was awarded the 2016 Adult Education Leader of the Year award.
The Colorado Adult Education Professional Association awarded Moran during its annual conference Oct. 13 in Denver.
Moran was chosen by her adult education peers for doing extraordinary work to empower and encourage students and colleagues. She is a current Durango School District 9-R school board member and has spent the last 16 years with the Durango Adult Education Center to positively affect thousands of students in their pursuit of a better life.
