My wife and I recently moved to Durango. From the very first time here, I’ve been troubled by the poorly designed intersection of U.S. Highways 550/160 south of town. As a former New York State Department of Transportation highway designer and traffic and safety engineer, I feel at least somewhat qualified to comment.

The most cost-effective and best solution to this issue appears the alternative that would use the new bridge and reroute through the Webb Ranch.
