I heartily endorse the American Sign Language class is being offered by St. Paul’s Lutheran Preschool.
Sign language is to the deaf what Braille is to the blind – a means to get past some of the handicaps of the body to have better communication with those not so handicapped and have more joy and ease in social life.
To those who are not deaf, American Sign Language is like a foreign language. But deaf people are not foreigners, they are our own American brothers and sisters. Let us learn their language if we have the opportunity, as now.
