Pine River Bank names chief financial officer
Pine River Valley Bank announces Donna M. Johnson has joined the bank as its chief financial officer.
Johnson has 32 years of experience in banking and 22 as either a controller or chief financial officer. She hails from Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Metropolitan State College in Denver with a major in accounting. She is a certified public accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.

National economist will speak to builders
On June 14, Elliot Eisenberg will be the keynote speaker at the Home Builders Association of Southwest Colorado dinner meeting. Eisenberg is a national acclaimed economist and public speaker specializing in making the arcane and minutia of economics fun, relevant and educational. His presentation, “Graphs & Laughs”, will provide insight and awareness from an unorthodox economist.
The dinner meeting starts at 6 p.m. June 14 at the Strater Hotel’s “Hank” Theatre, with check-in and open cash bar at 5:30 p.m. The public and news media are welcome. First National Bank adds to executive team
Diane Worker started with First National Bank of Durango on May 21 as vice president for compliance and risk manager. She worked previously at US Bank in Las Vegas, Colonial Bank and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
Worker has worked in the financial industry for 37 years.
Region 9 looking seeks volunteers
The Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado seeks diverse participation in its Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Resource Network.
The network is a group of people from Southwest Colorado volunteering help with economic-development planning and implementation. Region 9 seeks people who can represent more than one sector of the community, and are willing to help communicate and coordinate between their sector, their community and the regional plan.
The group will meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
