Junction Creek dentistry hires hygienist

Junction Creek Family Dentistry, 2323 West Second Ave., Suite B, has hired hygienist Tyler Moline.

Moline received an associate’s degree in dental hygiene with honors from San Juan College in Farmington. He also has a degree in music from the University of Oregon.

The family dentistry practice is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Thursday and is owned by John C. Hening, DDS.

QuickBooks workshop to be held Wednesday

The Small Business Development Center at Fort Lewis College will sponsor “An Introduction to QuickBooks” workshop from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

A brown-bag lunch break is scheduled for noon.

Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor Bethany McManus will lead this introduction and tutorial.

The cost is $65 for Durango Chamber of Commerce members and $70 for nonmembers.

Insurance, financial advisers to meet

The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors – Southwestern Colorado will meet at noon Wednesday at the Durango Public Library in Program Room 1, 1900 East Third Ave.

The guest speaker will be Steve Thomas, who will present “The Personal Economic Flow Model.” This one hour Continuing Education course provides a visualization of a client’s personal economy. It is designed to enhance an adviser’s ability to communicate to clients what happens with their cash flow depending on their spending decisions.

This presentation is derived from “The Private Reserve Strategy” and is presented with authority of the developer Money Trax Inc. The presentation is free to members, with a $20 charge to guests that includes lunch and the one-hour credit.

Starting a business workshop to be offered

The Small Business Development Center at Fort Lewis College will offer the “Starting Your Business Workshop” from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

Tuition is $25 for the public and $20 for Durango Chamber of Commerce members.
