Free conference call held concerning retreat

Victoria FittsMilgrim of True Life Coaching and Retreats and Susie Kincade of Women’s Empowerment Workshop will offer a free informational conference call at 6 p.m. Thursday to offer details about “The Heroine’s Journey” retreat.

The retreat will take place March 22 to 29 on the Oso Peninsula in Costa Rica. It will include group facilitation, one-on-one coaching, meals, yoga/meditation, spa treatments, hiking, exploring the Corcovado National Forest and time to discover and pursue a “Heroine’s Journey.”

The Heroine’s Journey template is based on the work of cultural historian Joseph Campbell and has been developed by FittsMilgrim during her 20 years as a certified life coach and adventure travel guide. Kincade will co-facilitate, adding activities and skills that build confidence and empowerment.

Rivergate Physical Therapy announces hire

Rivergate Physical Therapy announces that Rick Cimaglia has joined the practice.

Cimaglia recently moved to Durango from Prescott, Ariz. He originally received a degree in business administration from Northern Arizona University in 1986. He later returned to the university to earn master’s degrees in exercise science in 1994 and physical therapy in 1997.

Cimaglia has extensive experience in outpatient orthopedics, focusing on manual therapy and exercise progression, and also recently worked in home health physical therapy.

Drug-free workplace program to be offered

Drug & Alcohol Testing Associates will host an open house to meet and greet its new employees and share information about implementing a drug-free workplace from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

Luana Castellano, Veronica Piccoli, Deb Goodman and Rebecca Ballesteros will talk about establishing policies, educating employees about the dangers of alcohol and drug use, and deterring and detecting drug and alcohol abuse. Officer Trish Hutchens from Durango Police Department will speak about drug use and alcohol misuse in the community. Refreshments will be available.

Inventor’s Boot Camp to be held Oct. 20

The Inventor’s Boot Camp will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 20 in Room 110 of the Education Business Hall at Fort Lewis College.

This course is designed for inventors developing an idea or product and trying to either manufacture or license it. Instructors are professionals in their fields.

The cost is $30. Advance registration is needed by Wednesday .
