COLORADO SPRINGS – The Colorado Court of Appeals has ordered Colorado Springs police to return more than 60 pounds of marijuana they seized from a cancer patient who was later acquitted of drug charges.

Bob Crouse picked up his medical marijuana on Friday.

According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, Crouse uses marijuana oil to treat his leukemia.

More ski areas open; Monarch holds off

VAIL – Two more Colorado ski resorts have opened for the season, but one is delaying its opening day.

Vail Mountain and the Eldora Mountain Resort opened for the season Friday. Both are celebrating their 50th anniversary ski seasons.

Monarch Mountain was hoping to start its season Wednesday but now says that will have to be delayed because the weather isn’t cooperating. While some resorts have used snowmaking guns to help boost how much snow is on the slopes, Monarch relies on natural snow. It hadn’t said as of Friday afternoon when it might open.

New Mexico will be kicking off the start of the ski season today with the opening of the Sipapu resort.

Snowmaking has started at some ski areas around New Mexico, but Sipapu will be the first to open. The resort is reporting an 18-inch base.
