Archaeological Society set to meet Thursday

San Juan Basin Archaeological Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College.

Journalist and art historian Judith Reynolds will discuss “Graves and Grandiosity: The story of Heinrich Schliemann and Ancient Troy.” The public is invited.

Heinrich Schliemann was the discoverer of ancient Troy. Propelled by childhood traumas, Schliemann achieved success in commerce and in archaeology.

His controversial search for ancient Troy made him world famous before he collapsed and died on a Naples street at age 68.
