Health department welcomes new hire
San Juan Basin Health Department welcomes Vanessa Boyd as the new care-coordination services manager.
This program provides client-centered health-care coordination services to people in La Plata and Archuleta counties.
Boyd brings a background in management and operations from private and nonprofit industries. Much of her work has been in culturally diverse settings and her experience in communications and leadership will greatly contribute to this program and its services for the community.
These services include nurse navigators and promotoras (bilingual health educators) for people with high health-risk factors; Healthcare for Children with Special Needs Program; Healthy Communities which assists individuals and families in applying for Medicaid/CHP+ insurance; and a nurse coordinator who partners with the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program.

Coldwell Banker announces new hire
Coldwell Banker Heritage House Realtors announces the addition of Hal Lott as its media coordinator with his primary responsibility being professional photography and video for new property listings.
Since moving to Durango from Houston in 2001, Lott has worked in real estate support roles such as marketing/advertising coordinator, photographer, videographer, client liaison and as a personal assistant. He will assume many of the same responsibilities for Coldwell Banker by organizing and implementing the advertising, marketing and promotion of all properties represented by the local brand.
In addition to more than 25 years experience in advertising photography, Lott’s editorial photography has been seen in publications such as Better Homes & Gardens, Southern Living and several architecture and interior-design magazines, books and websites.

Chamber to host awards celebration
Durango Rocks! the Durango Chamber of Commerce annual awards celebration will be held Jan. 24 at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College.
A pre-awards reception will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The awards ceremony will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Chamber to host business after hours
The Durango Chamber of Commerce will host a Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 30 at the DoubleTree Hotel Ballroom, 501 Camino del Rio.
The cost is $10 for chamber members and guests.
