A family on Crestview Drive was able to sleep in their home Wednesday night after a quick response by Durango Fire Protection District firefighters.
The DFPD got the call about 10:30 p.m. and reported the fire under control at 10:58 p.m.
“We cleared the scene at 1:11 a.m.,” DFPD Battalion Chief Michael Krupa said. “Inspector Dave Stroebel completed his investigation and confirmed that the cause was a chimney fire.”
While the house is livable, there was some damage.
“They definitely have some work and clean up to do,” Krupka said.
