Cruz is not eligible to be president

Ted Cruz and I have different interpretations of the Constitution.

The authors were all well educated and prominent gentlemen who traveled everywhere, mostly by horse-drawn conveyance, and thus had a lot of time to think. So, I doubt any word in the Constitution was not well considered before insertion, and I understand the English language had only about one quarter of the words it does now.

In short, words were carefully chosen and left little room for interpretation.

In any case, if Cruz is right that you only have to be born of an American citizen anywhere in the world to run for the presidency, then all our immigration, citizenship, etc. requirements become worthless paper, entirely replaced by simple DNA tests. If anybody born anywhere who fits this description becomes the U.S. president, who controls the most powerful military of all time, how can you say he is not entitled to everything – and I mean everything – we all as Americans enjoy? Just because Canada is our best friend doesn’t mean a thing regarding this issue.

In short, it does not matter what Cruz stands or does not stand for. If he wins, millions upon millions from all over the world have an open door to U.S. citizenship, in many ways just what the Islamic State is trying to do.
