Occasionally, though perhaps more often in Durango, things line up to create a win-win situation. In celebration of National Library Card Sign-Up Month, the Durango Public Library is partnering with 66 local businesses to offer discounts to library card-holders through the month of September.

Some of us already know that possessing a library card presents an entryway into myriad worlds of reading and listening pleasure, insight, exploration and learning, all for free.

And now, in September, taking your library card shopping with you presents opportunities to save hundreds of dollars on local goods and services including ice cream, outdoor gear, health services, restaurants, animal care, furniture, website design and much more.
