And the West is History

50 YEARS AGO: “A small boy’s enthusiasm on the Silverton train yesterday resulted in the hospitalization of the boy and his parents. When the four-year-old got his foot caught on one of the cars while waving to spectators in Durango, he fell off the train. His father leaped from the train to help the boy and was thrown to the ground. The boy’s mother witnessed the scene and immediately fainted. All were taken to Mercy hospital and later released with minor injuries.”

25 YEARS AGO: “Geo! Geo! Geo! Pick of the Litter: Five brand new Geo Metro hatchbacks at Morehart of Durango, $7,164 each.”
