75 years ago: “Durango City Councilmen discussed the problem of accumulated long-due bills owed the city by water users. Since 1929, some $12,000 worth of delinquent water bills have been accumulating and no sign of prospective payments insight.”

50 years ago: Mesa Verde –“Mesa Verde National Park last month marked the first decrease in travel since January 1963. Visits, totaling 7,200 were down 1,900 from last year’s count of 9,100, or a decrease of 20.8 percent.”

25 years ago: “Three new board members were elected in School District 9-R after a quiet race to fill three seats on the board. Tom Shine, Rob Crane and Ron Pettigrew will join the seven-member board. Each will serve four years.”
