50 years ago: One hundred and sixty-five cowboys, the largest number they had seen at the time, entered the 36th annual Ute Mountain Roundup rodeo in Cortez.

25 years ago: People in a car along the 800 block of Roosa Avenue were reported to be shooting a high-powered water pistol at other motorists. Officers were unable to locate them.
