Animas Valley Grange presents talk on the effects of the 416 Fire

The Animas Valley Grange will host a talk about the effects of the 416 Fire on the watershed and forest at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the grange hall, 7271 County Road 203, north of Durango.

Scott Roberts with Mountain Studies Institute and Lindsey Hansen with the San Juan National Forest will give a presentation.

Roberts is MSI’s aquatic ecologist. Hansen, the national forest’s range program manager, took the lead role with the Burn Area Emergency Response team during the 416 Fire.

Their talk will provide new insights about the 416 Fire and its aftermath.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
