Symphony announces upcoming season

Tickets for “On Fire!,” the San Juan Symphony’s 2015-16 season, will go on sale Monday. This 30th anniversary season will feature a search for a new music director to be the fifth artistic head of the symphony.

The symphony will welcome four guest conductors – Blake Richardson, Thomas Heuser and Geoffrey Robson, all of whom appear as music director candidates, and Philip Mann, who continues his relationship with the symphony as principal guest conductor.

The schedule includes four subscription concerts in Durango, three concerts in Farmington and a third annual performance in Cortez to celebrate the opening of the new Montezuma-Cortez High School. The San Juan Symphony Youth Orchestras also will perform two concerts Dec. 7 and April 18.
