Colorado university student dies after being hit by vehicle

FORT COLLINS – A Colorado college student has died from his injuries after being struck by a vehicle on university grounds.

The Coloradoan reports that 19-year-old Anthony Avery was hit by a car driven by a 32-year-old female student at Colorado State University on Monday night.

Campus police say Avery died Tuesday night after being transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies with serious injuries.

Authorities say an investigation is ongoing, and people with information are encouraged to call police.

Authorities say Avery is the sixth person to die on Larimer County roads in just over a week, including another CSU student.

The newspaper says there have been 21 traffic-related deaths in the county this year.

There were 27 fatalities this time last year.
