El Moro offers many options for brunch

El Moro Spirits and Tavern has jumped into the burgeoning brunch movement in Durango, offering hearty breakfast and lunch fare from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends.

Most attention-getting might be their entire section of eggs Benedict offerings. In addition to the usual poached eggs, they include a ginger-smoked salmon with dill hollandaise on an English muffin with hash browns; the Jake, with grilled hangar steak, roasted red pepper hollandaise and hash browns and the Guido, pancetta, arugula and a balsamic glaze with parmesan hollandaise and potatoes. They have a regular Benedict, too, of course, with local Sunnyside Farms ham. Price range from $8 to $10.

Should you desire something sweet, they make a blueberry sticky bread from bourbon-infused brioche, egg custard, and blueberry cream anglaise for $8.

And if you want an adult beverage with your meal, El Moro will not disappoint. The French Blonde cocktail starts with Boodles gin, adds elderflower liqueur and Lillet blanc and ends with a dash of grapefruit juice bitters, for $9.

If that doesn’t lift your spirits, nothing will.
