Great Old Broads for Wilderness will host a special screening of “Elemental: Reimagine Wildfire” at 5:30 p.m. March 25 at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

The screening is free.

The film is a visually-stunning journey to better understand wildfires in our communities. It starts with the harrowing escape from Paradise, California, as the town ignited from wind-driven embers and burned within hours of the fire’s start. The film features climate experts, Indigenous people and fire survivors as it explores the lessons we can learn from recent record-shattering fires across the West and helps us reimagine wildfire as we prepare for an increasingly hotter future.
