Hooded bandit robs Serious Texas in north Durango

City releases images of suspect

Police are asking for residents’ help in identifying a man who broke into Serious Texas Bar-B-Q in north Durango to steal an iPad and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Video surveillance shows the man wearing a black North Face jacket with a hood enter the restaurant about 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, possibly through a back door, at the business’s north Durango location, 3535 Main Ave.

He is suspected of stealing cash during the robbery.

The same man returned about 4:50 a.m. Thursday to steal an iPad, according to a post on the city of Durango’s Facebook page.

The restaurant was closed Friday when called for comment.

The suspect is described as white, roughly 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build. He wore black skater-style shoes with white laces, baggy dark-blue denim pants and concealed his head with a dark navy blue shirt. He wore a black glove on his left hand but did not wear a glove on his right hand.

It appears he entered the business through a door on the west side of the building and fled southbound along the west side of Ski Barn.

Anyone with information is asked to call Durango Police Department Detective Chris Thomson at 375-4732.
