Two-month-old Adam is one of about 70 cats and dogs available for adoption at the La Plata County Humane Society’s 12th annual Adopt-A-Thon. The event, which began Friday, will continue from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Humane Society, 1111 South Camino del Rio. Jonell Jones of the Humane Society said 24 dogs from Las Cruces, N.M., and four puppies from Farmington have been brought in for adoption. Fees for adult dogs and cats – which include current vaccination, spay/neutering and micro-chipping – have been lowered to $50 and $10, respectively.
