The League of Women Voters and the Durango Herald will host a candidate forum from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26 at Bayfield Town Hall.

The forum will include a 15-minute presentation from Director Shelley Walchak on the local levy to raise tax for the Pine River Library.

Local candidates for county commissioner are incumbent Brad Blake, a Republican, and Democrat Clyde Church.

Sheriff candidates are Republican Charles Hamby; Adrian Dean Mize, who is unaffiliated; and incumbent Sean Smith, a Democrat.

County treasurer candidates are Democrat incumbent Allison Aichele and Republican challenger Colton Black.

Uncontested candidates are invited to appear for introductions.

Questions will be taken from the audience and can be emailed in advance to the League of Women Voters at trishpegram@gmail.com.

Questions will be sorted and consolidated by League of Women Voters members.

The election will be held Nov. 6. Ballots will go into the mail Oct. 15. More information is at www.lwvlaplata.org
