Lecture to address the peopling of the Americas

Bruce Bradley will give a lecture, “AUKward Proposal: Evidence of a Trans-Atlantic Contribution to the Ice Age Peopling of the Americas,” at 7 p.m. Feb. 4 in Room 130 of Noble Hall at Fort Lewis College.

Bradley is emeritus professor at the University of Exeter, United Kingdom, and a research associate at the Smithsonian Institution. He has extensive experience with Stone Age technologies and experimental archaeology. His current areas of research deal with the early peopling of North and South America and prehistoric Pueblo archaeology.

Bradley will bring a collection of casts of older-than-Clovis stone tools for people to examine.

The lecture is co-sponsored by the San Juan Basin Archaeological Society and the Fort Lewis College Anthropology Department.
