On April 6, Durango citizens will fill three of the five seats on the City Council for the next four years.

I am writing to let you know why I am supporting Frank Lockwood to fill one of those seats and to appeal for your support of his campaign. I have known Frank for 65 years (since first grade) and I am pleased to count him as a friend. He has demonstrated his personal convictions, sincerity, loyalty to the right and just causes as well as the courage to fight for resolutions throughout his life.

Frank is the only person I know who has never let me down with the choices and convictions he has made to benefit others. He has the capability, the commitment and the character to be an excellent city councilor. Through his legal career in family law and mediation, he has developed excellent listening skills, the ability to analyze issues and offer creative solutions, and the ability to communicate effectively.

He has manifested his commitment to community service in multiple ways, including a term on the County Planning Commission.
