Women’s group to explore relationships

Alternative Horizons has openings for a free and confidential 10-week women’s group exploring healthy relationships.

Groups will start Jan. 20, and will be offered at noon or 5:15 p.m. each Tuesday.

City of Durango announces schedule

This is the holiday schedule for the city of Durango:

City administrative offices will be closed Jan. 1, including offices at City Hall, River City Hall, police station and substation, Durango Transit Center, Parks & Recreation administrative offices and Greenmount Cemetery.

Durango-La Plata County Airport administrative offices will be closed Jan. 1. The airport will be operating normally.

Durango Transit will run its normal schedule Wednesday and will run one Buzz Bus from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. For more information or to schedule a ride, call 259-5438.

No transit services will be operating Jan. 1. The parking window and Transit Center will be closed. Parking downtown will be free.

Transit will have limited service Jan. 2. Two citywide buses will run from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and the trolley will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. No service will be offered to Mercy Regional Medical Center. No route deviations will be allowed, and one Opportunity Bus will run.

The evening bus is suspended during the Fort Lewis College winter break through Jan. 11.

The Durango Public Library will close at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, and will be closed Jan. 1. All branches will remain closed in conjunction with Durango School District 9-R schools winter break.

The Durango Community Recreation Center will be open from 5:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, but will be closed Jan. 1, and will reopen regular hours Jan. 2.

Chapman Hill Ice Rink will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday for public skating. The rink will be closed Jan. 1, and will reopen regular hours Jan. 2.

Chapman Ski Hill will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday. The ski hill will be closed Jan. 1.

The Mason Center is closed in conjunction with the Durango School District 9-R school break, with regular classes resuming Jan. 5. Preschool Open Gym will be available Monday and Tuesday only, Friday preschool open gyms will be closed.

Recycling and trash services will operate normally Wednesday. There will be no recycling/trash services Jan. 1. Thursday’s commercial recycling and trash will be picked up Wednesday. Thursday’s residential recycling and trash will be picked up Jan. 2. The Recycle Center will be closed Jan. 1, and will reopen Jan. 2.
