La Plata County offices announce hours
All La Plata County departments and offices will be open for business from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, except the following:
The Clerk and Recorder’s Document Recording Division, 98 Everett St., Suite C, will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
The Clerk and Recorder’s Motor Vehicle Division, 98 Everett St., Suite A, will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The Bayfield Clerk and Recorder’s Office and Motor Vehicle Division at the Bayfield Town Hall, 1199 Bayfield Parkway in Bayfield, will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
The Treasurer’s Office, 1060 Main Ave., Suite 103, will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.
The Veteran’s Service Office, 1970 East Third Ave., Suite 102, will be open from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
The Sheriff’s Office, 742 Turner Drive, will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
The Human Resources Office in the Old Main Post Office, 1060 Main Ave., will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except the first and third Wednesdays of the month when the hours will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Free legal clinics available in Ignacio
A free legal clinic for parties who have no attorney, will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. on the second Friday of each month at the Ignacio Community Library, 470 Goddard Ave. in Ignacio.
By computer link, volunteer attorneys will answer questions, help fill out forms and explain the process and procedures for all areas of civil litigation, including family law, property law, probate law, collections, appeals, landlord-tenant law, small claims and civil protection orders. Walk-ins are welcome, and everyone will be helped on a first-come, first-serve basis. Upcoming dates are: Friday, Feb. 14, March 14, April 11, May 9, June 13, July 11, Aug. 8, Sept. 12, Oct. 10, Nov. 14 and Dec. 12.
Veterans Affairs to host town hall meetings
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs announces that the Denver VA Regional Office will host these town hall meetings to inform veterans and their families about VA benefits:
