Mancos library to screen GMO film

Mancos Public Library, 211 E. First St. in Mancos, will screen the film “GMO OMG” at 6 p.m. Oct. 23. A community discussion will be held afterward about the film. Also, information about the Mancos Seed Library, Right to Know Colorado and Proposition 105 will be available.

Snacks from Zuma Natural Foods & General Store will be provided.

The film follows director and father Jeremy Seifert as he searches for answers to questions such as: How do GMOs affect children, the health of the planet and freedom of choice?

Durango Nursery to host Harvest Festival

Artists are invited to display their nature and plant-related art Oct. 25 at Durango Nursery & Supply, 271 Kaycee Lane, for its Harvest Festival.

All money from the sales of art will go to the artist. The nursery will have events, food and an art walk, with both an outdoor area and covered greenhouse for art.

Metal art, ceramics, painting, textiles and other mediums are welcome.
