Workforce board to meet Wednesday

The Southwest Colorado Workforce Board will meet from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Cortez First National Bank, 2258 E. Main St.

Agenda items will include regular Workforce Board business. A Workforce Development Network meeting will follow from noon to 2 p.m. with a presentation from Strata Leadership on the 3C Concept.

High Noon Rotary Club to meet Thursday

The Durango High Noon Rotary Club will meet from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio.

The cost for lunch is $15. Sen. Ellen Roberts will attend the meeting to speak on the upcoming state legislative session.

Free holiday kids camp to be held

Turtle Lake Refuge will sponsor a free Holiday Kids Camp to support organic parks in Durango from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 5 at Brookside Park, at 24th Street and Main Avenue.

The camp will include free face painting and kids games.

St. Mark’s to host Christmas Bazaar

St. Mark’s Community Christmas Bazaar will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 5 and from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 6 at 910 East Third Ave.

Twenty-six artisans and craftsmen will display on two levels. St. Mark’s kitchen will serve breakfast and lunch

Noel Night to take place Dec. 5

“Noel Night” will take place Dec. 5.

The event will feature music, flash mobs and impromptu events at downtown merchants. The event is produced by Local First, La Plata County’s nonprofit business alliance, which partnered this year with The Durango Herald for a blitz of advertising and event planning. All the downtown merchants who display a “Noel Night Participant” poster have contributed at least $125 to help pay for the costs of the event. There will be free parking after 10 a.m., and the trolley will run until 9 p.m.
