Ignacio library to host programs

Ignacio Community Library, 470 Goddard Ave., will host these program:

Friends of the Library will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday. The public is welcome.

The library will open at 10 a.m. Friday to accommodate a staff meeting.

Water to be shut off to 60 city residents

About 60 Durango city water customers on either side of East Fourth Avenue, from Eighth Street to 11th Street, and East Ninth Avenue, from Third Avenue to Fifth Avenue, will be without water much of today to allow for the installation of a new valve at East Fourth Avenue and Ninth Street.

Water is expected to be turned off from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. People in the designated areas are advised to plan ahead for water needs, including cooking, drinking water and toilet flushing.

Marvel Grange to host baked potato potluck

Marvel Grange will host a Baked Potato Bar Potluck at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Marvel Grange Hall, 217 County Road 133A.

Potatoes will be furnished, and participants are to bring toppings and a side or dessert. The Durango-La Plata County Airport will present information concerning expansion and upgrades.

Methodist church to host holiday bazaar

The First United Methodist Church will host its 41st annual Holiday Bazaar from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 2917 Aspen Drive.

All proceeds will go to local, national and international missions. The event will feature food, pie-by-the-slice, vendors, crafts, plants, baked goods and a Trash to Treasure room. A Sloppy Joe luncheon will begin at 11 a.m.

La Plata Quilters Guild to meet today

The La Plata Quilters Guild will meet at 5:30 p.m. today at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 495 Florida Road.

Patty Joy will present a program on “Crazy Quilts.” People interested in quilting are invited, to visit or become a member.
