Learn about volunteer opportunities in Nepal

An opportunity to volunteer while visiting Nepal will be discussed at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Himalayan Kitchen, 992 Main Ave.

A group is forming now for an October/November 2015 Service Trek to Nepal. Participants will learn more about Nepal and view “Good Karma,” a documentary film about the 2014 service trek. There is a suggested donation of $40 per person, which includes the movie and buffet dinner. All proceeds will benefit the charitable projects of the Karma & Jyamu Bhotia Foundation.

The mission of the Bhotia Foundation is to develop education, promote health awareness and improve living conditions in the remote villages of the Bhot-khola region of northeast Nepal. Donations also will be accepted to provide assistance to the victims of the 2015 earthquake in Nepal.
