The La Plata Electric Association offices in Durango and Pagosa Springs are hosting Power of Giving Trees with ornaments that represent money in the amount of $5 to $100. Community members are invited to select an ornament and take it to the customer service window, and that dollar amount will be applied to the account of a fellow LPEA consumer-member challenged with paying an electric bill this season.

The event will also continue after the holidays to help those in need.

LPEA consumer-members contributing to the Power of Giving Tree will receive an LED light bulb, LED night light or additional gift for their generosity.
