Montezuma Heritage Museum was approved as an Enterprise Zone Contribution Project by the State Economic Development Commission in July. This designation allows Region 9 donors of $150 or more to claim a 25% state tax credit and a 12.5% state tax credit on in-kind donations. This credit is in addition to the federal tax deduction for contributing to any 501 (c)(3) organization.

The Montezuma Heritage Museum, which opened in late 2022, seeks to be a visitor attraction highlighting the area’s pioneer history, and includes interactive exhibits from blacksmithing and heritage tourism around agriculture to a meeting and art space.
