Responding to Herald’s front page news

America was founded on Christian values and beliefs. As long as this country honored God and his teaching in the Bible, America was blessed and protected by God. By turning our back on God, we are now victims of weather and human disasters.

Instead of focusing on the recent slaughter in Orlando, The Durango Herald (June 26) chose to honor sin with a large front page picture of the gay parade and a person in the forefront promoting homosexuality.

Is this what we want for our children? The article was especially insulting to our Christian community since Sunday is the day most Bible-believing people worship.

All of us are saddened by so many deaths that never should have occurred. No one has to be bound to the gay lifestyle and can escape homosexuality.

Focus on the Family has opened the door offering freedom to those under Satan’s evil hold. God’s love is overwhelming and instructs us to love these people as he does so they, too, can spend eternity with the lord. Focus on the Family may be contacted at www.focusonthefamily.com.

Special group sessions like Alcoholics Anonymous and other Christian groups are another form of changing hurting souls and lives.

May God comfort those who lost loved ones in the recent killings.
