Slash-pile burning planned through April

The San Juan National Forest Columbine Ranger District plans to burn slash piles generated from forest thinning near the Tween Lakes and Enchanted Forest subdivisions on the north side of Florida Road (County Road 240) as early as January.

Burning could continue through April and should not affect public access or use of the forest. Operations typically take place after snowfall, and firefighters will closely monitor pile-burning activities.
