Cyclocross series is ready to ride

The Four Corners Cyclocross Series is set for another year, and there now are seven races in the series.

The series will begin Nov. 8 in Dolores and will close Dec. 20 in Pagosa Springs. Three of the races are USA Cycling-sanctioned (Nov. 22, at Three Springs; Dec. 6, at Cortez; Dec. 13, at Fort Lewis College).

Each event will cost $25 to enter.

A memorial swim fund for Cristian Korte

Durango Parks and Recreation now provides certified swimming programs to children through financial assistance with the Cristian Korte Memorial Swim Fund.

Korte died in August by drowning, so the family created a fund to assure every La Plata County family can afford swim lessons for their children, regardless of income.

The programs are available at the Durango Community Recreation Center, with programs and schedules available for viewing at durangogov.org/register4rec.
