Joey Logano outclasses his teammate in Xfinity win
WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. – Joey Logano won the NASCAR Xfinity race at Watkins Glen International on Saturday, outdueling Penske Racing teammate Brad Keselowski.
Logano, who started from the pole, overcame a stop-and-go penalty early in the caution-filled race and kept Keselowski at bay after a restart with four laps to go in the 82-lap race. It’s the first road course win of his career and 25th in NASCAR’s second-tier series.
The Penske duo led all but three laps in a race on the 2.45-mile layout that was delayed by seven cautions for 20 laps.
Series points leader Chris Buescher was third, followed by Boris Said and Ty Dillon.

Brawls end Washington’s and Houston’s joint practice
RICHMOND, Va. – The joint portion of the final practice involving the Washington Redskins and Houston Texans came to an end Saturday when a series of fights broke out.
The teams had just started working against each other when the first skirmish occurred. When more followed on subsequent plays, the head coaches decided to break the teams apart. Each team worked on its own field for the rest of the session.
Redskins defensive lineman Chris Baker said one of the fights started when a Houston offensive lineman tried to “clean him off the pocket.” Baker says when he removed his helmet and confronted the player, the player hit him and a brawl ensued.
Baker says the Texans were angry because the Redskins got the best of them in their joint workout on Friday.

Under police investigation, Kane hires familiar lawyer
BUFFALO, N.Y. – A lawyer was hired to represent Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane, who is under police investigation over something that may have happened at his home last weekend.
Lawyer Paul Cambria didn’t provide any further information in a text message to The Associated Press on Saturday. Cambria represented Kane in 2009 when he faced charges for assaulting a Buffalo cab driver.
In the meantime, Blackhawks spokesman Brandon Faber said Kane will spend Saturday with the Stanley Cup privately with his family in Buffalo.
The developments come a day after Hamburg police confirmed Kane is under investigation for an “incident that allegedly occurred” at the player’s offseason home in suburban Buffalo. Hamburg Police Chief Gregory Wickett did not discuss the nature of the investigation.
He said police are gathering information and awaiting forensic tests.
