The dark windows and quiet weekend nights were a good indicator, but Scott Sindelar, co-owner of The Summit, confirmed last week that the bar and music venue has closed. On Monday, the owners shared the bad news with the public in a Facebook post:

“As most may be aware of, The Summit has officially closed its doors for good. Rather than trying to figure out what could of or should of, we would like to take the time to say thank you to everyone for the great times over the 16 years of business. So many great shows & great people crossed our paths over the years. We would also like to thank everyone who worked for us & contributed to the great vibes the Summit was. What will become of the space is uncertain & we have no information as to where to get info either. Please leave a good memory, story or show that you had at the Summit & please keep it positive. Thank you everyone & support local music.
