THANK YOU

A head on collision occurred on June 4 on US 160, east of Bayfield near Beaver Meadows. A Hummer hauling a car trailer hit a horse trailer being pulled by a small semi.

A Dodge Sprinter got caught in the mix and rolled off the highway. EVERYONE had seat belts and walked out. Three were transported with minor injuries. Upper Pine crews were assisted by Durango Fire crews. It took over six hours for the wreckers to assemble and stabilize the horse trailer to remove two prize roping horses Pistol and Zoe, uninjured. Big thanks to Basin and Bo Deans Towing, along with Engine 7 from Durango Fire for enduring a six-hour operation that resulted in humans and horses walking away with bruises and scratches.

If you were on the highway held up thank you for your patience as we re-positioned equipment and ensured a safe operation.
